ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Ashley Marshall set a school record in the 200-meter dash,
Cekarri Nixon posted a career-best in the same event and
Katie Barber moved up the UC Davis indoor track and field all-time list in the high jump, highlighting Friday's action for the Aggies at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic.
UC Davis had competitors in just three events during the first of two days of action at Albuquerque Convention Center but still posted strong marks despite the limited action.
Marshall helped lead the way with her school-record showing in the 200. She finished 21st in 24.33 seconds, breaking her own record of 24.56 from last year's Husky Invitational at the University of Washington. Nixon, who is third on the all-time list for the 200, solidified her spot on that ledger with her time of 24.88. She finished 34th overall in the field of 104 competitors.
Barber posted a PR in the high jump for the second straight week. She cleared 5 feet, 6.5 inches on her first attempt, tying for fourth while also moving her up a spot into a tie for No. 4 all-time at UC Davis. She went 5-6 last week at the UW Invitational in Seattle. Barber is tied with Kristina MacMillan (2001).
The Aggies also had four competitors in Friday's section of the 400.
Rochelle Nadreau finished 15th in 57.73 for UC Davis' top performance in the event.
Competition concludes on Saturday.
