Day One Results

FAIRFAX, Calif. -- UC Davis senior Patrick Soli posted rounds of 67 and 68 to finish at 7-under for the day and a tie for eighth place after a low-scoring first day of play at the 2015 Alister MacKenzie Invitational hosted by California at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif.

The Aggies finished at even par as a team to end the day tied for 12th with BYU, as 11 of the 16 teams torched the course on Monday, finishing under par after the first two rounds. UC Davis is 10 shots back of 11th-place Nevada which, in turn, is 20 shots behind leader and host California after 36 holes.

Soli finished the day with four birdies, eagles on the fourth and 15th, and two bogeys en route to his top-10 finish, opening the day with a 4-under 67 in round one and closing with a birdie on four to finish the second round with a 3-under 68. He is six shots back of San Jose State's Cody Blick, who fired a 13-under 129 to take the lead, while Arizona State's Jon Rahm and California's Sebastian Crampton shot the low round of the day with a 63.

Senior Luke Vivolo was the next highest finisher, finishing at even-par and a tie for 44th for the day after opening the tournament at 3-under with a first-round 68, posting four birdies on the back nine. The front half was his nemesis in round two, bogeying his final three holes to finish at 3-over.

Freshman Ryan Knop finished at 2-over and a tie for 53rd after 36 holes, posting five birdies and joining his teammate Soli with an eagle on 15 as well. Juniors Ben Corfee and Nicolas Noya are tied for 68th at 6-over.
