Game Notes DAVIS, Calif. - First-place UC Davis will have its first opportunity to collect a record-setting victory in front of its fans when UC Santa Barbara visits the Pavilion Thursday night. Entering that Big West game with 14 victories, a win over the Gauchos will set a new Division I mark for the most overall wins in a season - and we have not reached the midpoint of league action. A victory will also give the Aggies their first over the Gauchos at home since Jan. 22, 2009. In the 12 games since, UCSB has won all but one.
Series Record: UC Santa Barbara leads 24-5
Last UC Davis Win: 64-56; 2/7/13 in Santa Barbara
Last UC Santa Barbara Win: 67-54; 3/1/14 in Davis
Series Streak: UC Santa Barbara +2

Two days after the Aggies compete in their first home game since its memorable (and thrilling) come-from-behind victory against Long Beach State on Jan. 10 - in front of a national audience on ESPNU - UC Davis will return to television screens across the country when ESPNU returns to the Pavilion. This time, it is the Cal Poly Mustangs that will visit campus to face the first-place Aggies in the first of three straight nationally-broadcasted games. On Thursday, Feb. 5, ESPN3 will carry UC Davis' road game at UC Irvine; FOX Sports Prime Ticket will carry the Aggies' road game at CSUN on Feb. 7.

Including its season sweep over last year's Big West Conference Tournament champions (and league representative at the 2014 NCAA Tournament), UC Davis has defeated Cal Poly in three of the last five head-to-head matchups.

Series Record: Cal Poly leads 33-16
Last UC Davis Win: 85-73; 2/27/14 in Davis
Last Cal Poly Win: 64-41; 3/14/13 in Anaheim, Calif. (2013 BWC Tournament)
Series Streak: UC Davis +2
ANYONE, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE
UC Davis enters this week's games atop the Big West standings in first place and is one of two league teams with an undefeated home record (8-0). Long Beach State, and its 6-0 home mark, is the other Big West team that has not lost a game on its home court. Unlike the 49ers, the Aggies are the only conference team to sport a winning road record as well with their 6-4 record.
WE'RE NUMBER ONE! WE'RE NUMBER ONE!
For the fourth consecutive week, UC Davis is the No. 1 team in the country (out of 345 Div. I teams) with its three-point percentage. The Aggies sport a .448 percentage from the behind the arc - that's more than four percentage points better than UC Irvine, the Big West's second-ranked team.
HE'S NUMBER ONE! HE'S NUMBER ONE!
For the first time in the program's Division I history, a UC Davis player leads all players in the nation from behind the arc with his three-point percentage. Corey Hawkins is that individual, and enters Thursday's game with a NCAA-high .509 mark.
BETTER THAN 50/50 ODDS? I'LL TAKE THAT
UC Davis is also ranked No. 4 in the nation, and No. 1 in the Big West, with its .502 field goal percentage. The Aggies are the only Division I team in the country to hold a top-five three-point and field goal percentage.
HE'S DEFINITELY ON THE LIST
Corey Hawkins is on Lou Henson Mid-Major Watch List - an award that is presented to the best mid-major player in the nation. Including his NCAA-high .509 percentage from three, the senior guard also holds another six top-100 individual NCAA rankings. Hawkins' 20.8 points per game scoring average is the best in the Big West Conference and the seventh-highest among all Division I players; he is also ranked No. 18 nationally with his 3.06 three-point field goals per game mark.
UC Davis' first-ever Big West scoring champion also holds top-100 figures in: total three-point field goals made (No. 50/52), total points (No. 51/354), field goal percentage (No. 70/.509) and total field goals made (No. 90/113).
TOP 25 TALENT
Just a handful of days after grabbing the nation's attention after scoring 28 points and collecting 10 rebounds in Jan. 10's ESPNU home game against Long Beach State, Corey Hawkins was named one of the nation's best college basketball players by ESPN. The senior guard was ranked No. 25 college basketball pundit John Gasaway's annual hype-free, performance-based listing of the top 25 players in the country.
ADD ANOTHER NEW SCHOOL RECORD TO THIS YEAR'S LIST
With its next win, UC Davis will set a new Division I record with 15 overall victories, topping the previous school record set by Coach Les' 2012-13 team.
That team also set a new program high by earning six road and nine league victories. The Aggies' next opportunity to collect their seventh road victory will take place on Feb. 5 at UC Irvine.
#AGGIEPRIDE LEADS TO ESPNU'S RETURN
Fans were loud on Jan. 10 when ESPNU broadcasted UC Davis' home game against Long Beach State, which is why the network is returning to the Pavilion on Jan. 31 to air the Aggies' league game against Cal Poly. This marks the first time in program history that UC Davis will host two nationally televised games in the same season.
Paul Loeffler (play-by-play) and Lamar Hurd will call the action courtside for Saturday's Aggies-Mustangs matchup.
CAREER WIN NO. 200 IS WITHIN REACH
Entering Thursday's game, Jim Les has won 196 games throughout his career, and is nearing the 200-win milestone in his 13th season as a head coach.
GIVE HIM AN INCH, YOU'RE GIVING HIS TEAM THREE POINTS
Even with opposing teams designing game plans to contain him, Corey Hawkins still finds ways to create solid looks from three. The senior guard has connected on 52 of 102 shots from distance and is the No. 1-ranked player in the nation with his .510 percentage.
CLIMBING THE MID-MAJOR LADDER
For the fifth week, UC Davis earned a top 25 ranking when CollegeInsider released its mid-major poll Monday evening. In its latest listing, the Aggies are ranked No. 18.
On Nov. 24, UC Davis made its inaugural Division I appearance on CollegeInsider.com's Mid-Major Top 25 poll when the Aggies received one vote. Five weeks later, UC Davis earned its first-ever, D-I national ranking when the media outlet listed the Aggies as the No. 25 mid-major team in the nation in its Dec. 22 poll.
KEEP YOUR HEAD ON A SWIVEL
Is the best piece of advice for all Aggie players on the court whenever sophomore guard Darius Graham or Corey Hawkins possess the ball. The pair lead the team with 63 and 65 assists respectively; combined, they are responsible for 49 percent of the team's total.
A FIVE-TOOL PLAYER IN BASKETBALL?
As the numbers indicate, that's the best way to describe Corey Hawkins since the senior guard can defend, score, protect the ball, create open looks for teammates and force turnovers. Hawkins' NCAA and Big West rankings include (through games played on Jan. 25):
NCAA
Three-Point Field Goal Percentage - 1/.510
Points Per Game - 7/20.8
Three-Point Field Goals Per Game - 18/3.06

THE DEFINITION OF CONSISTENCY
UC Davis has shot 50 percent or better in 12 of its 18 games this season, and no worse than 44 percent in any game. The Aggies are connecting at an impressive conference-best .502 percent from the field.
WELCOME BACK AGGIE ALUMS
ESPNU's return to Davis is well-timed since Jan. 31 is also men's basketball's alumni weekend. A printable flyer that contains the schedule for that weekend is available on the men's basketball homepage at ucdavisaggies.com.
