Matt Seramin posted a final-round 2-over 74 and UC Davis maintained its 10th-place position as the Aggie men's golf team finished the Saint Mary's Invitational on Tuesday.
The Aggies fired a 12-over 300 in the last round to remain in 10th place. They were actually in 11th following the first two rounds but adjustments to team scores overnight pushed them into the top 10 at the start of play on Tuesday.
Seramin ended the 54-hole event at 10 over, tying for 42nd place.
Luke Vivolo, who led UC Davis for the second consecutive tournament, shot 75 and tied for 17th at 3 over. Freshman
Ryan Han tied for 26th at 6 over after matching Vivolo with a 75.
Nicolas Noya, who shot 76, tied for 51st at 12 over while freshman
Patrick Soli tied for 72nd at 18 over after concluding with a 79.
Will Brink, playing as an individual, was 92nd at 31 over. He shot 77 on Tuesday.
San Diego came back from a five-stroke deficit to Saint Mary's, posting a final-round 289 to finish at par overall. That was good enough for a one-stroke win over the Gaels who finished six shots in front of third-place San Francisco (+7). Fresno State took fourth at 14 over.
Mathias Dahl of San Diego won medalist honors at 7-under 209.
Seramin had two birdies in the final round, one of them on the 10th hole where he started the day. He also birdied the 15th hole and had 10 pars and two bogeys the remainder of his round. Vivolo had two double-bogeys early in his round but then countered with two birdies - he had three overall - to post a 75.
Han, playing in his second collegiate tournament, either birdied or bogeyed five straight holes on the back nine of the Bayonet Golf Course, and had four birdies overall while shooting his way to 75. Noya was 4 over after eight holes but played par golf the rest of the day - helped by two birdies - to come in with a 76.
Soli did not have any birdies on Tuesday but picked up eight pars on the course's back nine. Brink had his best round of the tournament on Tuesday, highlighting his day with three birdies, including two on par-5 holes.
UC Davis will be back in action next week when it travels to Washington for the Husky Classic on Monday and Tuesday.
