WALNUT, Calif. - UC Davis sprinter Ashley Marshall went up against elite competition on Saturday at the Mt. SAC Relays, racing in both the 100-meter and 200-meter invitational dashes at the high-caliber meet.

She finished 12th in the 100 in 11.50 seconds - her fastest wind-legal time of the season - while later turning in a time of 23.61 seconds in the 200. The latter time was wind-aided but was her fastest time in the event this season.

Oregon's Jenna Prandini (11.11) won the 100 while Natasha Hastings (22.71, wa) of TC Management captured the 200.

Marshall was the final competitor at the Mt. SAC Relays this weekend while a few other Aggies took part in the 20th Beach Invitational, hosted by Long Beach State at Cerritos College.

Leslie Reed finished 12th in the 100 at the meet for the women while Karl Moran turned in the UC Davis men's best 400 time this spring with his 13th-place mark of 48.78 seconds.

UC Davis will return to action next Friday and Saturday at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational at Cal.
