Round 3 Results
STANFORD, Calif. - Matt Seramin shot a team-low 74 while
Matt Hansen tied for 40th overall as the UC Davis men's golf team closed out competition at the U.S. Intercollegiate on Sunday on the Stanford Golf Course.
The Aggies closed out a span of six rounds of golf in seven days and finished 17th overall in a field that featured six teams ranked in the top-15 nationally by Golfstat.
No. 12 Oregon took home the team title at 1-over 841, edging out eighth-ranked USC by just one stroke. No. 13 Stanford came in third at nine over.
Oregon's Daniel Miernicki claimed individual medalist honors, finishing at six under. Three players tied for second at one under.
Hansen was UC Davis' highest finisher, tying for 40th overall with a final round score of 77 in his first tournament of the spring. He birdied twice and made par on five straight holes of his front nine.
Seramin also made his spring debut and matched his first-round score with a 74 in the final round of action. He was even through his first nine, using birdies on the 16th and 17th holes before birdying again to open his back nine and move to one under. He dropped to four over, however, before closing out with two straight pars to tie for 71st overall.
Josh Granger tied for 65th, Luke Vivolo came in 86th place and Mike Brockington was 90th to round out the Aggie lineup.
Playing as an individual, Jonny Baxter tied for 53rd overall with a final round score of 75.
UC Davis returns to action in just one week, playing at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic Apr. 9-10 at the Talking Stick Golf Course in Scottsdale, Ariz.
