Final Results

WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i - Josh Granger shot a 2-under 70 to tie for 39th overall, Jonny Baxter carded his second eagle of the tournament, and the UC Davis men's golf team shot a 10-over 298, its lowest score of the tournament, on the final day of action at the 22nd Annual Amer Ari at Waikoloa Beach.

UC Davis finished 20th overall after sophomore Matt Hansen was unable to compete due to illness and the Aggies received scores from just four players. Granger was the Aggies' top finisher, shooting even for the tournament, while freshman Luke Vivolo tied for 87th at 9-over 225. Andrew Haggen tied for 89th at 10 over and Jonny Baxter finished with a three-day score of 236.

Texas, the No. 1 team in the country, won the tournament by five strokes, finishing at 30 under, while second-place USC shot a collective 25-under. Stanford was third while Georgia Tech and UCLA rounded out the top five.

USC's Jeffrey Kang shared individual medalist honors with Texas' Jordan Spieth as each player finished at 11-under 205.

Granger shot a solid third round, closing out his front nine at four under after picking up five straight pars and four consecutive birdies. He dropped to one under with bogeys on the sixth, seventh and eighth holes but regrouped with three pars and another birdie to finish at 2-under 70 for the day. Granger improved on his second round score by six strokes.

After making UC Davis men's golf program history with a double eagle in Wednesday's first round, Baxter eagled on the par-5 18th hole and shot four strokes better overall than the previous day to finish at six over for the day.

Vivolo's third round was highlighted by birdies on the first and 11th holes as well as 11 pars as he finished at a 3-over 75 for the third straight round. Haggen also finished at three over with birdies on the fourth and 12th holes.

UC Davis will next compete at the Del Walker Match Play Championship, hosted by Long Beach State on Feb. 27-28.
