EUGENE, Ore. - UC Davis completed its stay at the NCAA Division I Track and Field West Prelim Meet at Oregon on Saturday after seniors Jonathan Sees and Ray Green concluded their seasons in the 1,500-meter run and triple jump, respectively.
Sees, who advanced to the 1,500 national quarterfinal after a strong run in Thursday's first round, was among the leaders with a lap to go before falling back and finishing 12th in 3 minutes, 52.40 seconds.
Green, the Big West Conference champion in both the triple jump and long jump, went 49 feet, 7.25 inches during Saturday's triple jump, finishing 28th. He also qualified for the prelim meet in the long jump which he competed in on Thursday.
The top 12 finishers in all events advanced to the NCAA Championships in June at Drake University.
Sees qualified for the regional meet after running a converted 3:44.69 time for 1,500 meters during the Don Bowden Mile at Cal earlier in the season, ranking him second all-time at UC Davis. He also set a school record in 2011 for the 3,000 in 8:13.92.
Green caps his career ranked second all-time at UC Davis in the triple jump at 50-6.75 and eighth in the long jump at 23-11.5.
UC Davis, which sent 15 competitors to the prelim meet, qualified Thomas Phillips and Alex Wilright on Friday for next month's national finals in the 400 hurdles.
