SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Austin Graham posted a third-round score of 68 to finish at 5-under, placing fourth overall, while Tyler Raber shot a 67 in his final round to finish in ninth as the UC Davis men's golf team claimed fourth place on Tuesday at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic.
UC Davis finished at 3-over 843 for the tournament to earn fourth place in the 20-team field, finishing ahead of 20th-ranked San Diego, which came in seventh, and No. 33 Oregon State which was ninth overall.
Baylor won the team title at 4-under and Arizona finished second at 1-under.
Graham finished only three strokes off first place after carding a 68 in a final round highlighted by an eagle hole. The third-place finish marks the seniors first top-10 placing since finishing tenth at the Stockton Sports Commission Pacific Invitational Nov. 1-3 and is the first top-five finish for Graham this season.
Raber finished ninth overall after shooting a 67 in his final round, nearly a season low for the junior, to finish with a 1-under 209. Raber was one of the steadiest shooters in the tournament with 41 pars over his three rounds at the par-70 Talking Stick Golf Club.
Andrew Haggen tied for 28th overall at 4-over after scoring a 68 in the third round. The score ties a season-low for the sophomore and was a five-stroke improvement on his first and second round marks of 73. Haggen's three rounds featured 39 par holes.
Matt Hansen tied for 30th at 5-over as he took six strokes off his second round score of 75 and shot a 69 in the third round. He totaled 42 pars during the event.
Matt Seramin rounded out the Aggie scoring as he concluded the tournament with a third-round score of 75.
Arizona's Tarquin Macmanus claimed medalist honors after carding an impressive 66 in the third round to finish at eight under.
UC Davis returns to action Apr. 15-16 in Provo, Utah at the BYU Cougar Classic.
