EUGENE, Ore. - UC Davis junior Tyler Raber finished in a tie for 19th place after shooting 2-over in the final round to score a 1-over 217 and lead the Aggie men's golf team to a 9-over 891 and a ninth-place finish on Tuesday at the Oregon Duck Invitational.
Raber was the team's leading scorer through the first 36 holes Monday, shooting a first-round 72 and following that with a second round score of 71, both of which were team lows. Raber started his third round with a steady front nine, shooting par on the first seven straight holes before carding a birdie on the par-5 16th hole. He started his back nine at 1-under, but bogeyed three straight holes to finish at 2-over 74.
The Aggies also received a 4-over 220 from Matt Hansen who tied for 29th overall. The freshman shot a team-best 72 in his third round, with a front nine that included four pars and a birdie on the last five holes. He continued with a back nine that was highlighted by six even holes and two birdies.
Austin Graham tied for 51st overall at 10-over 226 and was followed by Andrew Haggen and Daniel Covrig.
Graham rebounded from a first-round 77 with a 74 in his second round before scoring a 75 to complete play Tuesday. The senior was at 2-over after his front nine, then remained steady through the back nine by shooting par on 8-of-9 holes.
Haggen finished in a tie for 63rd at 14-over while Covrig improved on his second round score by eight strokes, carding a 76 in his final round.
Top-ranked Oklahoma State won the team title, finishing at 16-under, while host Oregon was second at 8-under. Washington, Oregon State and New Mexico State comprised the rest of the top-five teams.
Washington's Chris Williams received medalist honors with a 9-under 207 after shooting two sub-70 rounds.
UC Davis returns to action Apr. 4-5 at the Cowboy Classic, hosted by Wyoming at the Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
