EUGENE, Ore. - Tyler Raber is tied for 11th at 1-under 143 and the UC Davis men's golf team is tied for eighth at 19-over after completing 36 holes Monday at the Oregon Duck Invitational Eugene Country Club.
Raber finished his first 18 holes at an even 72 after carding four birdies, then moved to 1-under after his next round of 18 holes. Despite a double bogey on his first hole, Raber picked up a birdie on the par-5 eighth, parred the next five straight holes, then birdied on three of the next five holes.
Matt Hansen is tied for 34th at 4-over and is followed by Andrew Haggen, Austin Graham and Daniel Covrig.
Hansen remained steady throughout his first round as he shot even on 16-of-18 holes, then birdied on four holes during his second round to finish at 4-over 138 on the day.
Graham finished his first round at 5-over, then took two shots off his first round score with a second round that featured 13 pars to score a 3-over 75 and finish at 8-over.
Haggen also finished at 8-over Monday after starting the day with a steady first round in which he finished at 1-over 73. Covrig shot two birdies and 10 pars during his first round and is 18-over after 36 holes.
The Aggies, competing for the first time since Mar. 1, are tied with Colorado for eighth place and are only two strokes behind No. 35 Pepperdine who is seventh at 17-over. Top-ranked Oklahoma State is first at 6-under while host Oregon, ranked 28th nationally, is second at 3-under. No. 22 Washington is third, Oregon State is fourth and San Jose State is fifth.
Oregon State's Alex Moore is currently leading after shooting 8-under on the day.
Play continues Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. UC Davis will compete alongside Pepperdine, New Mexico State and Idaho.
