REDLANDS, Calif. - Senior goalkeeper Erik Quinn totaled 21 saves, junior attacker Matt Richardson compiled eight steals and sophomore Colin Hicks posted four goals as 15th-ranked UC Davis picked up two victories at the Inland Empire Classic men's water polo tournament Sunday. The Aggies beat Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 10-7, then took down Pomona-Pitzer by a 10-3 final.

UC Davis has won six straight, with the only loss coming to No. 1 California on September 4.

Hicks and senior Carlos Martinez each performed hat tricks in Sunday morning's win over CMS. Hicks also added two assists with two field blocks and a drawn exclusion. Richardson contributed two goals to go with four steals, while Aaron Salit and Cory Lyle each had a goal to round out the Aggie offense. Quinn manned the UC Davis cage for all four quarters, tallying seven saves.

In Sunday's afternoon matchup, sophomore Walter Eggert scored three goals to lead seven Aggie scorers. Salit chipped in two goals, with Lyle, Hicks, Bernie Rogers, Kevin Meisel and Matt Vowell accounted for the balance. However, the victory over Pomona-Pitzer was highlighted by two individual defensive efforts: Quinn posted a career-high 14 saves against just three goals, while Richardson matched his morning total of four steals.

UC Davis returns to action on September 18-19 at the NorCal Tournament, held at Cal and Diablo Valley College. The Aggies will open with Stanford on Saturday morning, then face either UC Santa Barbara or UC San Diego that afternoon.
