SAN JOSE, Calif. - The UC Davis women's swimming and diving team lost to San Jose State 195-103 in a double-dual meet Sunday at The Aquatics Center in San Jose, Calif. Pacific also competed, however UC Davis opted not to score against the Tigers.
The Aggie women are now 3-6 while San Jose State improved to 8-3 overall.
Bridget Bugbee won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:05.63 while Ashley Chandler took first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.25.
San Jose State won 13 of 16 events, including the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.
UC Davis finished second in the 200 medley relay with Chandler, Morgan Lee, Kayleigh Foley and Katelyn Griffin clocking in at 1:48.63. The Aggies also took second in the 200 freestyle relay as Chandler, Jen Cadmus, Lisa Bender and Foley combined for a time of 1:38.45.
Bugbee also finished second in the 200 freestyle. She clocked in at 1:54.65 and was outtouched by San Jose State's Marisa DeWames who finished with a time of 1:54.57.
Chandler was second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.54 while Foley was second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.79.
In diving, San Jose State's Amy Kilby won both the three-meter and the one-meter competition. Jennifer Meyer was second for the Aggies on the low board with a final score of 217.80. Hilary Brunner was second in the three-meter competition with a score of 231.90.
The women's team returns to action alongside the Aggie men when they travel to Cal State Bakersfield to take on the Roadrunners Saturday, Jan. 23 at 1:00 p.m.
