The Aggies were just two shots behind runner-up San Jose State and six back of winner Washington State. Idaho State took fourth at 880 while first-day leader Sacramento State was fifth at 881.
Graham helped lead the Aggies' charge on Tuesday with his 65. He had matching rounds of 73 on Monday, ending the tournament at 5-under 211 and posting the ninth top-10 finish of his career. It also marked his second straight top-three performance in a season-opener after winning the Kansas Invitational a year ago.
Sophomore Tyler Raber enjoyed his best round of the event as well, slicing five strokes off his second-round tally to card a 2-under 70 and tie for a career-best 15th place at 5-over 221. Brent Booth shot 76 and tied for 34th at 11-over 227, Tim Honeycutt had a 77 and tied for 29th at 9-over 225, and redshirt freshman Andrew Haggen was 48th at 14-over 230 after an 80.
Blake Brown of Boise State and Kevin Tucker of Washington State were declared co-medalists after tying for top honors at 8-under 208. Brown highlighted his tournament with a final-round 66, the same score Tucker had in the second round on Monday.
The third-place finish also delivered UC Davis 2-1/2 points toward the early standings in the race for the 2009-10 Causeway Cup with Sacramento State. The Aggies currently lead the Hornets 15 points to 2-1/2 points in the all-sports competition with 10 points on the line Tuesday night when the schools' women's volleyball teams meet in Sacramento.
The golf team returns to action this weekend when it travels to the Spartan Classic at Michigan State for action on Saturday and Sunday.
