DAVIS, Calif. - Sophomore Sarah Flynn scored three goals while junior Lauren Schmidt and freshman Emily Boeri each recorded two goals and two assists to lead No. 16 Stanford to a 20-3 win over UC Davis in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's lacrosse action at Aggie Stadium Wednesday night. The Cardinal victory spoiled the first home night game in Aggie program history.

UC Davis dips to 1-2 for the season and in conference. Stanford improves to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in MPSF play.

For the Aggies, junior Molly Lapolla scored two goals while sophomore Christina Corsa added one. Senior Patrice Clark posted UC Davis' lone assist.

A total of 10 different Stanford players scored at least one goal, while the Cardinal held substantial edges in shots (42 to 12), ground balls (24-15), draw controls (16-9) and turnovers (19-25). The Aggies took the initial lead when Corsa scored on an unassisted drive in the fourth minute. But Stanford responded with 14 straight goals to hold a 14-1 edge at halftime, then made it 15-1 on Ilyssa McIntyre's goal in the opening minute of the second half.

Lapolla broke the scoreless spell with a goal from Clark at the 36:45 mark, then later stole a pass from Stanford goalkeeper Annie Read directly in front of the cage. She quickly deposited the ball into the net for her second personal goal and her team's third.

Defensively, sophomore Rachael Martinez posted three caused turnovers and two ground balls for the Aggies. Junior Britt Farquharson added a pair of draw controls and two ground balls. Sophomore Alyssa Cranska registered 10 saves in the UC Davis net, including seven in the first half.
