BREMERTON, Wash. -- Sophomore Austin Graham birdied three of his first nine holes in Monday's second round on his way to a 1-under 71, finishing the day at 3 over and leading the UC Davis men's golf team during the first two rounds of the Husky Invitational being hosted by the University of Washington.

Graham, who tied freshman Tyler Raber with a team-best 76 in the first round and is tied for 14th, was a bright spot for the Aggies who are 11th in the team standings. The 25th-ranked Aggies, who are 30 over after 36 holes, trail Portland in the 11-team field by just two strokes and two other teams tied for eighth by four. UC Davis had a 309 in the morning round but each of its five players tied or lowered their scores in the second to help the Aggies shoot 297.

The host Huskies blitzed the par-72, 7,111-yard Olympic Course at Gold Mountain Golf Club, finishing their day 11 under and with a seven-shot lead over second-place Cal. San Diego State is third 20 shots off the pace while Oregon is in fourth, 25 shots behind Washington.

Graham, winner of the Kansas Invitational earlier this month, opened his second round by posting birdies at the par-4 10th and the par-5 11th to go to 2-under quickly. Another birdie at the par-4 17th helped him make the turn two shots below par. Graham bogeyed the first hole on his back nine but played steady the rest of the way by carding eight consecutive pars.

Raber, a freshman from El Macero, had an up-and-down first round with only nine pars but also three birdies before posting eight pars over his first nine holes in the afternoon on his way to a 75. He is tied for 34th. Ramie Sprinkling carded rounds of 79 and then 75 to finish at 10 over, the same score as teammate Brent Booth who had a 78 followed by a 76. Both are tied for 50th. Senior Nate Pistacchio had consecutive rounds of 79 and is in 63rd place.

Chris Killmer of Washington is at 5-under 139 and has a one-shot lead over Michael Jensen of Cal. The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Tuesday.
