STOCKTON, Calif. - Despite a total of six goals from senior utility Adam Bennett, 11th-ranked UC Davis lost a pair of games on the first day of the NorCal Open men's collegiate water polo tournament at Pacific's Chris Kjeldsen Pool Saturday. The Aggies fell to No. 5 Pepperdine in a 15-7 final, then lost their nightcap to the host Tigers by a score of 5-3.

UC Davis falls to 2-6 for the season.

Bennett scored five goals while sophomore Matt Richardson and juinor Brendan Sigourney each had one in the Aggies' early loss to Pepperdine. Grant Miller, Adam Hewko and Mat McDonnell each had hat tricks for the Waves, who outscored UC Davis by a 5-0 margin in the final period. Redshirt freshman Kevin Peat manned the cage for UC Davis, posting eight saves.

Senior Danny Driscoll scored two of the three Aggie goals in the loss to Pacific, while sophomore Erik Quinn assumed goaltending chores with his 11-save performance.
