Final Stats

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Despite a career-high four goals from freshman Jacklyn Taylor, UC Davis was unable to overcome Louisville's offensive onslaught, falling by a 20-13 score in non-conference women's collegiate lacrosse action Monday at the U of L Lacrosse Stadium.

The Aggies fall to 5-9 for the year. The Cardinals improve to 9-4 overall.

Senior Katie McGovern added three goals and two assists for UC Davis. Senior Katie McMahon, sophomore Olivia Jarem and freshman Gina Hoffmire each scored two to round out the offense.

Freshman attacker Liz Lovejoy led all players with five goals and two assist for seven total points to lead Louisville. Another freshman, midfielder Sierra Smith-Hart, chipped in four goals. Lianne Bobal and Emily Dashiell also scored hat tricks for the Cardinals, who compiled their third 20-goal game of their rookie season.

UC Davis made a strong comeback in the first half as McGovern scored a goal and assisted Hoffmire on another to cut the deficit to a 6-5 margin. But Louisville finished strong, getting two Lovejoy goals in the 29th minute to take a 10-6 halftime lead. Lovejoy also had back-to-back goals midway through the second period to boost the Cardinals' lead to 20-9 with less than six minutes remaining.

McMahon had two assists and an eight-meter goal during the Aggies 4-0 stretch to finish the game. McMahon, McGovern and sophomore Patrice Clark each had four draw controls.

UC Davis returns to Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play with a road game at Denver on Friday, then returns home to host Saint Mary's in its regular-season finale on Sunday.
