LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior midfielder Megan O'Connor and sophomore attacker Patrice Clark each performed hat tricks as UC Davis exploded from an early 2-2 tie to a 13-2 win over Bucknell in a non-conference women's lacrosse game at Graham Field Wednesday evening.

The Aggies even their record at 5-5 overall. The Bison, members of the Patriot League, fall to 4-4 for the year.

Junior Katie McGovern contributed two goals and two assists for the UC Davis offense, while freshman Olivia Jarem added a 2-1-3 line. Seniors Alden Monger and Jen Sanderson and sophomore Eri Ichikawa also scored for the Aggies. Junior goalie Hilary Harkins protected the UC Davis cage with 11 saves against the two goals.

Paige Kasschau and Bonnie Buechel had the only goals for Bucknell, which was outshot by its guests, 36-20.

The Aggies drew first blood in the contest as O'Connor hit an unassisted goal just 2:13 after the opening draw, then Sanderson assisted Clark for the second goal less than a minute later. Buechel later put the Bison on the scoreboard at the 12:01 mark, then Kasschau tied the game with her successful eight-meter shot at 15:04.

Bucknell never managed to find the Aggie net again in 12 more attempts. McGovern converted Jarem's assist at 16:29 to ignite a 5-0 run to finish the second half. O'Connor had two goals in a 6-0 second half for UC Davis.

Junior Ranessa Santos had four ground balls and a caused turnover for the Aggies on defense. O'Connor and McGovern also added three ground balls and a steal to supplement their offensive contributions.

UC Davis returns home to host Saint Mary's on April 1 at Aggie Stadium. Sunday's non-conference game will be the first-ever athletics event at the campus's new multi-use facility.
