Box Score
MORAGA, Calif. - Freshman Patrice Clark scored three goals while a trio of Aggies each added two, leading UC Davis to a 14-5 win over Saint Mary's in a non-conference collegiate lacrosse game Saturday. Clark scored all three of her goals in the first half.
The Aggies even their record to 8-8. The Gaels drop to 4-12. UC Davis' win helps avenge an earlier upset at home during the season's second week.
Sophomore Katie McGovern, senior Tiffany Lee and junior Katie McMahon each scored a pair of goals for UC Davis. Junior Megan O'Connor had three assists to go with her single goal, while freshman Eri Ichikawa posted a 1-2-3 offensive chart.
Kim Reny led the Gaels with two goals. She was the first player on either team to score, finding the back of the net in the fifth minute of play. However, UC Davis rolled off four straight from the 15th through the 20th minutes, getting back-to-back by Lee then consecutive goals from Clark. The Aggies held a 6-3 edge at the halftime break.
O'Connor converted a free-position goal early in the second half, then Alex Oetken had an unassisted goal at 39:27 to cut the Aggie lead to 7-4. UC Davis then unleashed a run of seven unanswered goals to extend its margin to 14-4. Molly Wagner tacked on a goal for SMC in the final minute to bring the score to its 14-5 final.
Clark also had five ground balls and won two draws to aid the Aggie effort in the midfield.
This contest is the final regular-season game for either team. Both teams are next in action at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament at Oregon in one week.
