SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Justin Hurd won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9 minutes, 8.4 seconds while Kristina Wooten had a season-best throw in the javelin throw, as UC Davis finished the 2004 season with a small contingent at the Pacific Association USA Track and Field Championships at Sacramento State on Sunday.
Just five Aggie women and four UC Davis men competed in the non-scoring meet.
Hurd won his race by nearly 15 seconds while Wooten's throw of 113 feet, 6 inches eclipsed her previous best this season by 2 feet, 11 inches. She finished in sixth place on Sunday.
Laura Cherdack had another strong showing for the Aggies, finishing second in the 5,000 in 17:34.07.
Sunday's competition also brought to a close UC Davis' 2003-04 athletic year.
