2018: ACWPC ALL-AMERICA SECOND TEAM… WESTERN WATER POLO ASSOCIATION PLAYER OF THE YEAR… ALL-WWPA FIRST TEAM… WWPA ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM… WWPA ALL-TOURNAMENT FIRST TEAM… Became the first Aggie to earn All-America honors in four straight seasons, while his second-team nod is the highest ever bestowed upon a UC Davis men’s water polo player… Finished with a team-high 51 goals to go along with 29 assists for 80 total points on the year… Finished his career with 211 goals (only the third player in the program’s modern era to amass 200 career goals) and set the career record with 153 assists… Tallied 11 hat tricks for the year and had another five games with at least three assists, including a career-high five against California on Sept. 6… Attempted 108 shots and posted a .472 shooting percentage on the year… Added 18 steals and 17 drawn exclusions — including five, five-meter penalties… Led the team with 21 field blocks… Scored a goal in 21 of the team’s 26 games, including a season-high four at Concordia on Oct. 5… Scored at least one goal in each of the first six matches to start the season and ended the season on a run of four straight matches with a goal, including three in the WWPA semifinal and championship games… Had a run of five-straight multi-goal contests from Oct. 5-15 (finishing with 13 overall in that stretch).
2017: ACWPC ALL-AMERICA THIRD TEAM, becoming first three-time honoree in program history... ALL-WWPA FIRST TEAM... Scored team-leading 62 goals, 10th-highest in school record book... Assisted on another 43, missing Grant Muenter’s 2008 school record by one... Shot .484 for the year (62-for-128) with 30 steals, 13 drawn exclusions and 4 field blocks... Performed 8 hat tricks, raising career total to 25... Poured in season-best 5 goals at Loyola Marymount (11/2), plus 4-goal performances vs. Pepperdine (9/22), UC Santa Barbara (9/24), Concordia (10/15) and Harvard (10/22)... Scored at least one goal in 20 straight games, fifth in school history... Earned WWPA Player of the Week honors for 10/26 .
2016: ACWPC ALL-AMERICA THIRD TEAM, becoming first Aggie since Aaron Salit (2011) to earn higher than All-American... WWPA PLAYER OF THE YEAR... ALL-WWPA FIRST TEAM... Led team in goals (48), assists (42), total points (90) and shots (129)... Finished second among Aggies in minutes (560.5) and drawn exclusions (27 majors, 3 five-meter)... Assists total ranks 4th in school history... Totaled 9 hat tricks, including 4-goal games vs. Princeton (9/24) and George Washington (10/23)... Had 3 goals, an assist and 2 steals in NCAA tourney game vs. Harvard (12/1)... This came a week after his 2-goal, 4-assist performance in WWPA title game vs. UC San Diego (11/20)... Earned All-Academic honors from both WWPA and ACWPC.
2015: ACWPC ALL-AMERICA HONORABLE MENTION... ALL-WWPA SECOND TEAM... WWPA ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM... Led Aggies in goals (50), assists (39) and total points (89)... Assists total ranks 4th in school history... Played 452.0 minutes in 26 games (17.4 avg)... Netted 37 goals in second half of the season, including 12 goals and 13 assists in six conference games... Exploded for 7 goals in WWPA semifinal vs. Cal Baptist (11/21), T3rd in school history and most since Mike Gotelli in 1997... Totaled 8 hat tricks in all: 5 goals vs. Harvard (10/25), 4 vs. Santa Clara (9/27), and 3 on five other occasions... Notched season-best 6 assists vs. Concordia (10/18)... Hit equalizer at regulation buzzer to force overtime at Air Force (10/3).
TICHON HADASH HS ’12: Helped Asa Tel Aviv to three Israeli national club championships... Made Israel’s senior national team at age 16, helping squad to Seniors European Championship qualifier... Also played for U-15, U-17 and U-19 national teams... Led either junior or senior national teams in goals at 2010 and 2012 Slowianka Cup, 2010 and 2012 Juniors European Championship qualifiers, 2013 Malta International, and 2013 and 2016 Seniors Euro qualifiers... Concentrated studies on sports psychology and anatomy.
PERSONAL: Born in Herzliya, Israel... Majoring in psychology... Parents are Michal & Ilan Goldschmidt... Served three years in Israel Defense Forces, hence entering UC Davis as a 21-year-old freshman in 2015... Favorite facility he has played is the Bitskey Aladar in Eger, Hungary.
