2024: BIG WEST ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE...Competed in five meets for the Aggies...Recorded a tenth place finish at the Stump Invite with a time of 25:21.1 in the 8k...Set his personal best in the 8k with a time of 25:00.3 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invite...Competed in the Big West Conference Champs, placing 47th overall with a 25:06.5 finish. 

2023:  BIG WEST CONFERENCE ALL-ACADEMIC...Competed in three meets...Finished 88th in the 6k at the Big West Preview with a time of 20.19.9....took 10th place in the 8k at the Stump Invitational with a time of 27.21.1...For the first time in his career, Chance was been named the Big West Conference Athlete of the Week after completing the 8k Speedway Meadows course in 28.05.6 at the San Francisco State Invitational.

2022: Competed in five meets…Ran a personal best 8K time of 26:09.9 at the Bronco Invitational which placed him in 68^th place…Best finish was 39^th at the Pacific Invitational with a time of 27:03.6…Finished 68^th at the Big West Conference Cross Country Championship with a time of 27.32.7…Ran a time of 26:57.9 at the University of San Francisco Invitational which placed him in 72^nd…Finished 86^th at the Bill Dellinger Invitational with a time of 27:09.1.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Newark Memorial High School in Newark, Calif. … Competed in cross country, basketball and track & field… Led NMHS to its first state championship appearance in school history… Set the NMHS 3-mile course record with a time of 15:34… Guided the Cougars cross country team to the MVAL title on the strength of his individual title, boasting a 3-mile time of 14:56… Garnered MVAL MVP and all-league accolades… Named to the All-NCS second team and nabbed All-NorCal honorable mention… On the track, ranks second in school history with a 3,200m time of 9:30.02.

PERSONAL: Son of Todd and Sharon Tokubo… Has a younger sister named Kara… Named to the Principle's honor roll all eight semesters, all-honors student (top 10 in class of 2022)… Tabbed the NMHS Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2022… Earned the NMHS White Sweater Award (8 or more Varsity Sports) in 2022… Newark Optimist Club Student of the Year 2021-2022… Can solve a Rubik's Cube in under 10 seconds… Lists his career sports highlight as celebrating down the home stretch on the way to being Newark's first MVAL league cross country champion in 15 years and first league championship in 36 years… Enjoys solving Rubik's Cubes and other puzzles, streaming on Twitch, playing Rocket League and watching things on Disney+.
