LEADING OFF
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Utah Tech jumped ahead, scoring five runs over the first three innings to take a 5-0 lead
- Dethlefson got the Aggies on the board with a three-run tank to right field that scored Polli and Olivia McFarland, making 5-3 after four and a half frames
- The next innings would a trade of blows between the two sides, with Utah Tech extending its lead to 9-3 after scoring four in the fifth inning
- But the Aggies came storming back, scoring two in the sixth and in the seventh UC Davis went on a tear opening a can that poured out six runs that would put the Aggies up 11-10 heading into the bottom half of the frame
- Phillips knocked in a pair of runs with a single, while Polli and Gia Felice each had an RBI single with Felice's putting the Ags ahead
- But in the bottom half of the seventh, Utah Tech scored on an RBI triple to tie it and used a walk-off three-run home run to beat the Aggies 14-11
