Oleg Shatskikh led UC Davis water polo to a come-from-behind double overtime 14-12 victory over Pepperdine on Friday, Sept. 19.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- On the advantage, Andrew Hitchcock got the first score for the Aggies three minutes into the first.
- After a quick response from Pepperdine, Luka Palavra and Thomas Kiesling added onto the tally to end the first with a 3-1 advantage for Davis.
- In the first four minutes of the second, the Waves rattled three straight to tie things up at four apiece.
- But the Aggies struck back quickly, with Adam Ting, William Fosselman, and Shatskikh combining to give the team a 7-5 lead at halftime.
- Coming into the third quarter, the Aggie scoring streak continued, with two from Shatskikh and one from Timothy Kerr giving them a 10-5 advantage.
- Pepperdine responded with a quick goal before Brody Crouch got his first of the day to extend the lead to 11-6 for Davis.
- Down five, the Waves went on a heater, going on a 6-0 scoring run through the third and fourth to create a 13-12 lead.
- Shatskikh's fourth tied things at 13 with just two minutes left in the fourth, but Pepperdine responded with 16 seconds left before Waylon Fox scored with five seconds left to send the game to overtime
- With no goals in the first overtime period, the second overtime period was opened with Shatskikh's fifth.
- Despite shots from their opponents, an insurance goal from Kiesling gave the Aggies a 14-12 win.
