WHAT HEAD COACH DAN CONNERS HAD TO SAY
"We played a good match this afternoon. We executed the game plan at a high level, especially in the first two sets. Utah State made some good adjustments in the third, but I was really proud of the way our group was able to continue playing at a high level despite the different challenges we faced in the third set."
Â
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ

- With the score reading 22-18 in favor of UC Davis, Hibino scored two of the last three to help her team claim set one 25-19.

- But service from Ximena Cordero Barr and Bones led the way for a 16-8 advantage for Davis.

- Set three was a back-and-forth affair all throughout.
- With their opponent up 8-6, Davis would spark a 4-0 run to go up by two.

- Late in the frame, with UCD up 17-15, they began to pull away, utilizing kills from Caldwell and Czapinski to take a 21-15 advantage.
- But Utah State would continue to strike, using a 7-1 run to knot the set at 22 all.
