THE SHORT STORY: UC Davis went toe-to-toe with No. 4 Stanford on the road, generating 10 shots with multiple corners, but a 76th-minute strike from the hosts lifted the Cardinal late.

- The Aggies stood tall defensively through a scoreless first half, with Schwengeler anchoring the back line in goal
- After the break, the Cardinal began to press higher and finally found the breakthrough in the 76th minute
- The Aggies answered with a late push in the closing minutes, generating multiple corners and shots on goal from Gault, and Banks that kept Stanford under pressure until the final whistle
- Even with this late effort, the Cardinal defense would hold on to secure the shutout
