The short story: A 14-draw control day from
Annie Cimperman breaks the single-season record as the UC Davis lacrosse team cruised past the San Diego State Aztecs in their regular season finale, 13-11. The Aggies now prepare for the Big 12 Tournament next week in Boulder, Colorado.

OPENING DRAWÂ
- Cimperman's 14 draw controls put her at 99 on the season, now ranking at the top of the single-season list.
- Grace Gebhardt led the offense once again with four goals on the day, also assisting on two more goals for six total points.
- Lauren Picardi and Alannah Scott also grabbed hat tricks, each logging three goals.
- Leading the defense, Katie Jones grabbed her first goal of the season to go along with a caused turnover.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- With the Aztecs up 2-0 in the first, Gebhardt and Scott went back-to-back to knot things up at two apiece.
- SDSU got another back at the end of the first. As the second quarter began, Gebhardt passed it up to Audrey Carr for her first goal of the day.
- The back-and-forth affair continued as Bella Tan got another for San Diego State on the player advantage.Â
- But Ellie Raffo got her first of the season to spark a 3-0 run from the Aggies that included scores from Gebhardt and Picardi.
- The Aztecs got two back as the teams went into halftime tied at six.
- At the start of the third, as the rain began to fall, both offenses stayed hot with a combined five goals in the period.
- With two minutes remaining in the quarter, Scott scored her second of the afternoon to put her team up 9-8 entering the final period.
- Keira Doyle-Odenbach tied things up for SDSU to begin the fourth.
- Up on a player advantage, Gebhardt and Scott secured hat tricks on back-to-back goals to put the Aggies back up two.
- After Gebhardt scored her fourth, the Aztecs struck again to see the score reading 12-10 in favor of UC Davis.
- With three minutes left, Picardi clinched another hat trick on a free-position goal.
- Bella Tan got one back for San Diego State, but the Aggies would pull out the 13-11 win.
