LEADING OFF
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME ONE)
- CSU Bakersfield got two of their six runs in the first inning, with Sawai locking in over the next five frames not allowing a run as the Aggies chipped away
- In the second, Buscemi brought home Panziera after she slapped one up the middle to make it 2-1 and put the Ags on the board
- In the seventh, Buscemi, who had run down a ball in center field during the previous half inning to keep CSU Bakersfield from extending the lead, tied the game up at 2-2
- The Aggie center fielder smacked a single to center field that scored Vanessa Calvillo to force the bottom half of the seventh to be played
- In that bottom half, CSU Bakersfield loaded the bases and with one swing of the bat Karissa Munsey hit a walk-off grand slam to give the Roadrunners the series win and a 6-2 victory in the ball game
UP NEXT FOR THE AGGIES: UC Davis returns home to face Pacific on Wed., Mar. 12 at 3 p.m. before welcoming Cal Poly for a Big West weekend showdown from Mar. 15-16.
