Ashley Sawai, UC Davis softball put themselves in position to walk-off Pacific in the seventh inning to take Tuesday's midweek game at La Rue Field.

LEADING OFF
- Sawai threw seven frames, giving up just one run and striking out six batters while giving up zero walks
- Mickey Buscemi, who got the game winning sacrifice fly, went 1-for-2 with one RBI and one walk from the lead off spot
- Rylee Reeves added a base hit, while Marley Panziera had one hit and one RBI in the game
- Alyssa Dethlefson remained perfect in stolen bases, getting her 11th of the season
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Pacific got its lone run in the first inning, scoring on an EBI single with no outs. But Sawai dug in for the remainder of the frame, striking out the final two batters to leave the bases loaded and keep Pacific from adding to its lead early
- In the third and fourth innings, Sawai was lights out sitting down the Tiger batters in order during both frames
- The Aggies got on the board in the fourth inning, with Panziera smacking a single up the middle that scored Buscemi to make it 1-1
- UC Davis' defense also showed off, with Grace Kilday throwing out yet another runner, the 11th runner she has thrown out this season and second straight game she has gunned down a runner at second
- Things were tied at 1-1 heading into the seventh, but the Aggies came to the plate looking to end the game
- Dethlefson led off the game with a walk and she was advanced to second on a Vanessa Calvillo sacrifice bunt
- Sydney Polli singled up the middle to put runners at the corners with one out setting things up for Buscemi to end the game
- Buscemi took a 1-2 pitch to center field, plenty deep enough to score Dethlefson from third for the walk off sacrifice fly and a 2-1 Aggie victory
