The short story: Marley Panziera hit a home run to provide UC Davis softball with some power in its loss to Sacramento State in the final game of the Capital Classic and the second game of the day for the Aggies.
 
LEADING OFF HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Two home runs in the first inning gave Sacramento State an early 3-0 lead
  • In the second, after another run for Sac State, the Aggies scored a pair on a Dethlefson sacrifice fly and the Panziera blast to left field
  • Following the Panziera homer the Aggies had cut it to 4-2
  • But two runs in the third and four more in the fifth gave Sac State the lead it needed to end the game after five with the score at 10-2
UP NEXT FOR THE AGGIES: The Aggies remain at home when they welcome California for a midweek matchup on Wednesday, Mar. 5 at 2 p.m.
