DAVIS, Calif. – Breaking the seal on conference play, the No. 15 ranked Aggies took on the No. 8 UC San Diego Tritons and fell 8-15 during the game in home waters.
Freshman
Margo Tempel was the first Aggie to score after the team was quickly down 2-0, and her goal was set up by junior
Madison Sparre to kick off the Aggie offense.
Redshirt freshman
Sofia Bozzo scored a career-high of two goals this game with a perfect shooting percentage as she converted both powerplay attempts she took.
Sophomore center
Bridget Miller also scored two in the game, showing her finesse at center and on the post with a 6-on-5 advantage.
Senior
Sam Yoo added a goal and an assist, while sophomore
Chelsea Johnson had a goal, two assists, and drew three exclusions.
Redshirt Junior
Gianna Nocetti won three of four sprints, also adding an assist and a steal to the mix.
Lefty
Maddie Sumner revamped the offense and had a sniper shot from the six spot during a powerplay early in the fourth, tying it up for the Aggies early to give them a fighting chance.
Goalkeeper
Eva Stein logged the entire game, making seven saves against Triton opportunities.
However, the battle wasn't enough to secure the win over the Tritons as they took on a lead in the fourth.
