The short story: The UC Davis lacrosse team took their first win of the 2025 season with a 20-15 victory over the Oregon Ducks on Saturday, Mar. 1.
Alex Agnew breaks the program's all-time assist record and
Alannah Scott scores seven for the third-most in a match in program history.
Â
OPENING DRAWÂ
- Agnew's five assist day gives her 101 in her career, breaking the previous all-time record of 97 that was set by Elizabeth Datino in 2013.
- She also had three goals for a team-high eight points.
- Scott's seven-goal game ties her with seven other players for the third-most goals in a single match in program history. The last player to score seven in a game was Taylor Cuenin against Radford on March 16, 2019.
- Annie Cimperman controlled the tempo with an Aggie-high eight draw controls.
- Ella Brislin had a solid all-around game, putting two into the net, picking up three ground balls, winning four draw controls, and causing one turnover.

Â
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- After Oregon struck first, Cami Johnson found the back of the net for her first of the day, three minutes into the match.
- Halfway through the period, with her team down a player, Scott got her first of the afternoon off the record-breaking assist from Agnew.
- After another from Scott, both teams exchanged goals before Brislin cashed in a free position shot to give the Aggies a 5-4 lead after a high-scoring first quarter.
- In the opening moments of the second, Scott got her fourth before Jane Fox secured her first of the day to give UC Davis a 7-4 lead.
- However, the Ducks refused to back down, scoring four straight to retake the lead.
- In the final minute of the half, Scott scored her fifth of the day before goals from Lauren Picardi and Fox gave the home team a 10-8 lead going into the locker room.
- On the other side of the break, it was goals six and seven for Scott and one and two from Agnew that fueled the offense for the Aggies.
- But Oregon continued to produce as well, finding themselves down only two entering the game's final 15.
- 26 seconds into the fourth quarter, the Ducks found themselves back within one after a goal from Lyla Hurley.
- One minute later, the Aggies turned on the burners, rallying a 6-0 run to give themselves a 20-13 lead with just three minutes left.
- Oregon tacked on a couple of late goals, but the comeback proved too late as UC Davis would go on to defeat their former conference foe 20-15.
