  • Carter Speights was a bright spot for the Aggies, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 2.1 innings, giving up one run on three hits, with two walks and three strikeouts
  • Ned Frutchey and Rowen Barnes accounted for the two other Aggie arms during game two, and all four combined to collect nine strikeouts
  • Offensively, the Aggies were led by Wooldridge, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a double and an RBI
  • Korey Williams had a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, after going 1-for-3 in the first game of the doubleheader as well
  • Alex Gouveia also helped for UC Davis, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate
  • Gouveia also chipped in by going 2-for-5 in game one, collecting his third and fourth multi-hit efforts on the season with the back-to-back two hit games

  • Nick Leehey's run-scoring single highlighted a two-run inning for the Aggies
  • UC Davis lost the lead they built in the sixth, but got back on the board in the seventh trailing 3-2

  • UC Davis' lead had disappeared once the eighth inning arrived and turned into a 5-4 Utah Valley advantage, when the Aggies tied up the game at five
  • The Aggies recorded a run on junior Braydon Wooldridge's two-out RBI double
  • The Wolverines broke the tie and took the lead heading into the ninth inning, when UC Davis got back on the board
  • The Aggies scored once on an RBI single off the bat of freshman Zach Story, tightening the Utah Valley lead to 9-6 but the comeback efforts would fall short

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME TWO)

  • UC Davis got an RBI single from Acosta, scoring Gouveia from second base
  • The Aggies then held the Wolverines scoreless before expanding their lead in the third inning
  • UC Davis picked up two runs in the frame, the big hit being an RBI double from Wooldridge, which brought the score to 3-0 in favor of the Aggies
  • After scoring three runs within the first three innings, the Wolverines would control the late innings
  • Scoring a pair of runs in the fourth, Utah Valley made it 3-2 with a single to left field and a sacrifice fly
  • The game would be tied in the seventh, with an unearned run coming around to score off an RBI single through the left side
  • That unearned run would prove fatal with Utah Valley walking it off in the ninth with a two-out single to secure the 4-3 win
