The short story: After a tough loss in the doubles point, UC Davis women's tennis showed incredible resilience, rallying to win all six singles matches and clinching a commanding 6-1 victory over Pacific. 

COURTSIDE 

• Pacific took the early lead, grabbing the doubles point. 

• Senior Claire Galerkin and junior Kaia Wolfe were the only doubles pair to win their match. 

• Every Aggie took home a win in singles. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Aggies opened up the morning with doubles where Daisy Maunupau and Solia Valentine finished first unfortunately not being able to hold off their opponent. 

• Next to finish was the pair of Mika Ikemori and Polina Marakhtanova who also could not fend off their tiger opponents.

• Last to finish were Galerkin and Wolfe who took down their tiger opponents. Despite this win, the doubles point went to Pacific putting them up 1-0. 

• On to singles, graduate student Solia Valentine was the first Aggie to finish winning her match in two quick sets. 

• Next to finish was freshman Marakhtanova who continued the momentum with a win against her tiger opponent in two sets. This is the first win of her Aggie career. 

• Next Aggie to follow was sophomore Ikemori who took done her opponent in two easy sets. This match win put the Aggies up 3-1. 

• Aggie Wolfe would finish next with a two-set win beating her Pacific opponent and putting the Aggies on top. 

• UC Davis and Pacific would finish out the remainder of the matches despite the Aggies winning the dual match. Aggies Maya Youssef and Penelope Wong would also win both of their matches in two sets giving Wong her first career win and Youssef her first season win.
