Â
OPENING DRAWÂ
- In addition to Gebhardt's four goals, the Ags also got two additional hat-tricks from Jane Fox and Reese Loseke, each netting three goals.
- Fox also added an assist for four points in her collegiate debut.
- Two goals and two assists from Cami Johnson also earned her four points in the contest.
- In her first game in nearly two years, Alex Agnew posted an impressive outing, collecting one assist, one shot, and two draw controls on the afternoon.
- Annie Cimperman stayed active in the midfield for a game-high 11 draw controls.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- After Cal opened up the game with two goals, Davis got on the board for the first goal of the season from Fox.
- Two more goals from the road team made it 4-1, but the Aggies answered back with another from Fox and two from Loseke to tie things up at four apiece.
- In the final seconds of the first, Natalie Markman got on the board to give the Aggies their first lead of the game to end the period 5-4.
- In the first eight minutes of the second quarter, both teams remained strong on defense, with both goalkeepers keeping all shots out of the net.
- With seven minutes remaining in the half, the Golden Bears tied things up once again.
- From there, both teams began to trade blows, with the first goal of the game from Johnson leading the way for the home team as they entered halftime tied 8-8.
- In the opening seconds of the third, Alannah Scott got on the board for her first of the season.
- The game remained tight, as, despite another goal from Fox to give her three on the day, Cal would respond with two more to enter the fourth still tied.
- Late in the fourth quarter, with the road team leading 15-12, Davis stormed down the field looking to stay alive.
- With 50 seconds remaining, Gebhardt's fourth of the game put them within two.
- 30 seconds later, with the Aggies on a player advantage, Johnson cashed in another to put her team back within one.
- However, the comeback would fall just short, as a draw control won by Cal would give them the win, 15-14.
