HOW IT HAPPENED

The Aggies opened up the morning with doubles where Daisy Maunupau and Solia Valentine finished first unfortunately not being able to hold off their opponent.

Next to finish was the pair of senior Claire Galerkin and junior Kaia Wolfe who could also not fend off their Spartan opponents, giving the doubles point to San Jose State.

On to singles, freshman Penelope Wong was the first Aggie to finish losing to her opponent in two hard-fought sets.

The next Aggie to fall was graduate student Valentine who also went down in two sets.

The third Aggie to finish was sophomore Ikemori who took her Spartan to a thrilling tiebreaker, but ultimately fell short and lost her match.

After being down 4-0 the Aggies decided to leave three matches unfinished. Senior Kaia Wolfe, freshman Polina Marakhtanova, and junior Maya Youseff all stopped and left their matches incomplete.
