Yan’s Run In ITA Regionals Ends In Round of 16

The Short Story: A two set loss in the third round of singles competition for Elim Yan wrapped up the ITA Regionals for UC Davis women's tennis on Sunday, Oct. 11.

  • The round of 16 finish is the furthest an Aggie player has made it in the ITA tournament since 2022, when Yana Gurevich advanced to the third round.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Battling in the first set, Yan fell 6-1 to begin the day.
  • She looked to bounce back in set two, taking two points off of her opponent, but her tournament would ultimately end as she dropped a 6-2 decision.

  1. Anna-Marie Weissheim (WASH) def. Elim Yan (UCD) 6-1, 6-2
UP NEXT: The next fall competition for the Aggies will be held in Las Vegas as they get their first taste of competition in a new conference at the Mountain West Individual Championships from Oct. 20-25.
