HOW IT HAPPENED
- UC Davis opened the game with a three-pointer from TY Johnson at the shot-clock buzzer on the first possession
- UC Davis' success from beyond the arc continued during a 9-0 run with three consecutive three-pointers, including back-to-back treys from Sevilla and another from Daughtery Jr., giving the Aggies an early 14-7 lead
- The Roadrunners, however, responded by doubling the Aggies' rebounds in the first half and went on a 9-0 run of their own, taking a 29-25 lead with 1:21 remaining
- UC Davis cut into this lead and trailed by only a point heading into the break after an alley-oop finish from Tamba in the final seconds of the half, making the score 30-29 in favor of the Roadrunners
- Cal State Bakersfield extended its lead after intermission, constructing a 65-58 advantage before UC Davis went on a 6-0 run, capped off by Johnson's three-pointer, reducing the deficit to 65-64 with 53 seconds left in the game
- The Roadrunners sank a pair of free throws to make it 67-64
- On the ensuing possession for the Aggies, a lengthy review of an apparent goaltending call ultimately resulted in a no-call, allowing the Roadrunners to create a two-possession lead, making it 69-64 with just 18 seconds remaining
- The Aggies got a layup on the next possession and called their final timeout, but with time and possessions running out, the Roadrunners would ultimately hold on for the 71-66 win
