Maya Shinnick smashed the record set back in 2001 in the 400 meter dash in the Friday leg of the trip, along with multiple top ten finishes across all platforms and events were the recipe for a successful Aggie showing this weekend in Reno.

Maya Shinnick led the team with a huge personal best and school record in the 400m with a time of 54.67, as well as a lifetime best in the 200m. We also had numerous top-10 places across all events. I am happy with where we are with our development."

HOW IT HAPPENED (FRIDAY):Â
Shinnick had an especially successful day; starting with her capturing first place in the 400 meter dash with a rapid 54.67. Her trip of success continued, placing eighth in the 200 meter dash with a 24.43 final time.

Senior powerhouse
Ashpreet Kler secured fourth overall in the weight throws, launching the weight into a 17.18 meter-flight (56' 4.5").

Kayla Rutz placed sixth overall in the mile run, a time of 5:15.10 good to secure her top-ten spot.

Freshman
Kayla Towne posted a new personal record in the 800 meter run, her speedy 2:18.31 time placing her fourth overall. Freshman
Kiah Aitken also placed in the 800, the time of 2:20.55 helping her take sixth overall.

Senior pole vaulter
Sarah Graessley took her knowledge of Nevada, tying for fourth place. She cleared 3.75 meters (12' 3.5") on the event.

Freshmen fire squad
Lauren Villegas and
Fiona McGrath debuted in the 5,000 meter run, capturing first and second.

HOW IT HAPPENED (SATURDAY):Â
The Ags were a force to be reckoned with in the 600-meter run, clearing the lap and a half with four top-ten finishers and four athletes with a PR in the event. Those were
Dominika Janik in third with a quick 1:33.93,
Kiah Aitken in sixth with a 1:39.02,
Tauren Mitchell in eighth with a 1:43.30, and a 1:43.33 for
Kayla Towne.

Freshman
Grace Dunham placed third in the mile run, setting a personal best in the event with a 5:08.06 to secure her finishing place.

To close out the day, a relay power squad made up of
Maya Shinnick,
Ashleigh Christy,
Dominika Janik, and
Kiah Aitken placed seventh overall in the 4x400 dash relay.
