LEADING OFF
- Despite a fantastic outing from Sarah Reineman – who allowed just one run over six innings of work – the right-hander was tagged with the tough-luck loss.
- UC Davis couldn't find the timely hit in game one, going a total of 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position.
- Kenedi Brown made history in the second game when she became the new UC Davis all-time leader in innings pitched (Division I era) after her outing of 3.0 innings. She now has 707.2 innings pitched for her career.
- Sarah Nakahara was the only Aggie to record a hit in each contest, going 2-for-5 on the day.
- Brown was a bright spot for the Aggies, coming out of the bullpen and throwing three innings, giving up one run on one hit, with four walks and two strikeouts.
- Anna Dethlefson went 2-for-3 to lead the Aggies offensively in game two.
- Freshman Marley Panziera also helped out for UC Davis, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a double.
- Sophia Ramuno threw a complete game shutout for Cal Poly in the first game.
- Jessica Clements recorded a hit in each contest to lead the Mustangs' offense.
THE RUNDOWN (GAME ONE)
- Cal Poly placed runners at second and third with one out in the bottom of the third, but Reineman came up with a big strikeout before inducing an inning-ending groundball to get out of the jam.
- Reineman was dealing, hanging four consecutive zeroes to begin her outing. She allowed just two hits over the four frames.
- The hosts finally broke the deadlock when Jessica Clements – who currently ranks second in the nation for batting average – roped a double down the left field line to score Kai Barrett.
- UC Davis mustered just two hits in the contest as Sophia Ramuno won the pitcher's duel, tossing a complete game shutout to lift her team to the 1-0 win.
THE RUNDOWN (GAME TWO)
- Dethlefson led off the second half of the doubleheader with a single up the middle and later scored on a well-orchestrated double steal with Sarah Nakahara.
- Cal Poly answered in the second when a UC Davis defensive mishap allowed two runs to score.
- Clements continued her impressive afternoon with a solo shot in the bottom of the third, extend the Mustangs' lead to 3-1.
- Another two-out error allowed Cal Poly to tack on a run in the bottom of the fourth.
- Leah Polson made an unbelievable diving catch in center field to get the Aggies out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth.
- Dethlefson smacked her second hit of the game to lead off the UC Davis sixth. She later scored on a Nakahara sacrifice fly.
- Cal Poly hung on for the 4-2 win.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Brown reached 707.2 innings pitched for career, making her the program's Division I leader in that category.
