The short story: Jason Hanson became the first Aggie since 2018 to record a 5-for-5 day, but the late comeback efforts were not enough, as Cal Poly secured the sweep over UC Davis in Sunday's finale.
LEADING OFF
- Hanson finished his remarkable day at the plate by going 5-for-5 with a double and three RBIs
- Eight of the nine Aggie starters all recorded hits, as UC Davis finished the day with 16 total hits
- Alex Gouveia and Riley Acosta followed right behind Hanson's impressive day, each going 3-for-5

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Aggies were trailing 5-0 after Cal Poly got runs in each of the first three innings
- UC Davis got an RBI single from Hanson, scoring Gouveia from second base making it 5-1 in the fourth
- The Mustangs expanded their lead to 8-1 before the Aggies offense got back to work, cutting the lead to just three in the seventh after exploding for four runs
- That inning for UC Davis was capped off by a one-run double from Mark Wolbert, which tightened the Mustangs lead to 8-5.
- Cal Poly expanded their lead to 13-5 heading into the last inning
- UC Davis' offense reduced their deficit to 13-6 in the ninth with Hanson collecting his fifth hit of the day, and third RBI, but it was too little too late as Cal Poly would hold on for the win
