UC Davis Seeded Seventh at Big West Championship, Face UC Irvine in Quarterfinal

DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis women's water polo team has secured the seventh seed in the 2024 Big West Tournament and will take on No. 2 seed UC Irvine in the quarterfinal round. The game is scheduled for Friday, Apr. 26 at 2:30 p.m.

If the Aggies defeat UC Irvine in the opening round, they would advance to take on the winner of No. 3 seed Long Beach State and No. 6 seed UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, Apr. 27 at 2:00 p.m. The Championship game is scheduled for Sunday, Apr. 28 at 12:00 p.m.

HISTORY
The Aggies bowed out in the first round of the 2023 Big West Championship, falling to fourth seed UC San Diego, 9-8. UC Davis last advanced out of the quarterfinals in 2019, when they took down sixth seeded CSUN, 15-8. Second seed Hawai'i bounced the Aggies in the semifinal round the following day. The Aggies' last championship game appearance came in 2012, when they were defeated by UC Irvine, 10-5.
