Women’s Water Polo: Gianna Nocetti Named ACWPC All-American Honorable Mention

DAVIS, Calif. — Already named an All-Big West Second Team selection, UC Davis women's water polo's Gianna Nocetti has landed on the 2026 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-American Team, making the list as an Honorable Mention.

This marks the first time that Nocetti has made an All-American team in her career, capping off a remarkable tenure where she secured a Big West All-Conference selection in every single season of her career.

This honor comes after a 2026 season where Nocetti finished second on the team in both goals (47) and assists (41) for 88 points, pushing her past major career milestones surpassing 100 goals, 100 assists, and 200 total points. She also led the Aggies defensively by racking up a career-best 40 steals to anchor the perimeter.

In addition to scoring eight hat tricks throughout the season, including a career-high six goals on six shots against Fresno Pacific, Nocetti also collected the first two Big West Player of the Week selections of her career. A dominant force on both ends of the pool, Nocetti led the Big West with 80 sprint wins on the season and finished in a three-way tie for the top spot in the conference with her 40 steals.

Each year, the ACWPC makes it its mission to elevate the game of collegiate water polo across all levels of competition. This season, Division I student-athletes have been recognized across four All-American teams—First Team, Second Team, Third Team, and Honorable Mention—placing Nocetti among the nation's top performers in 2026.
