Aggies Host San Diego State for First Pac-12 Home Game

DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis women's lacrosse team will look to pick up their first win in Pac-12 league play on Saturday when San Diego State visits UC Davis Health Stadium for the Aggies' first ever Pac-12 home matchup.

ABOUT THE AGGIES
The Aggies (7-3, 0-1 Pac-12) enter the weekend contest following a 21-13 defeat to No. 17 USC in the Pac-12 conference play opener on Saturday. Grace Gebhardt continued her tremendous level of play, registering five goals and two assists for the second time this season. The first occasion came against San Diego State in the Aggies' third game of the season. Gebhardt is up to 29 goals and 11 assists this season and moved into 10th all-time in program history with her 17th career hat trick. 

Ella Brislin, the Aggies' second leading scorer, put in four goals in last weekend's game, increasing her season total to 19. Cami Johnson set up two of Brislin's scores, pushing her assist total to 10 on the year. Johnson, a freshman, is second on the team in points, with 25 combined goals and assists. 

Ashley Laing made 14 saves against USC, which is the fifth time this season the senior goalkeeper has prevented double-digit goals. Laing, second all-time in program history for goalie saves, leads the Pac-12 and is third in the nation with 100 saves on the year.

UC Davis has won seven of their last nine games, with both of their losses coming to teams ranked in the nation's top-20. 

ABOUT THE AZTECS
San Diego State (1-9, 0-1 Pac-12) enters Saturday's conference showdown highly motivated for a win, having lost their previous eight games. 

The Aztecs are led by Sara Toner, a senior attacker with 22 goals and Jenna McDermott, a midfielder with 17 goals. Freshman Frankie Garcia has scored 15 goals and made five assists on the season. 

HISTORY
UC Davis defeated San Diego State, 19-11 in their last meeting on Feb. 17. UC Davis holds the historical advantage against San Diego State, with a 9-6 all-time record dating back to 2012. The Aggies have won four of the last five matchups, and picked up an 11-9 win when they last hosted San Diego State last season at UC Davis Health Stadium. The Aztecs' last victory came in a high scoring 21-17 affair in 2022.
