LAST WEEK
Tova Sabel etched her name in the annals of UC Davis women's basketball history, amassing a double-double with a season-high 28 points while reaching 1,000 points for her career, leading the Aggies to their 64-56 victory over UC San Diego on Thursday night.

Led by Evanne Turner's season-high 24 points, UC Davis enjoyed its best long-range shooting performance of the year in its dominant 70-58 victory over Long Beach State to conclude the regular season.

ABOUT THE TITANS
Cal State Fullerton earned the eighth and final spot into the Big West Conference Championship after dropping seven of its last 10 games. UC Davis swept the season series, but the Titans just took regular season champion UC Irvine down to the wire in their last contest.

Gabi Vidmar is one of the conference's best sharpshooters, hitting 37.1% of her shots from deep which matches Evanne Turner at the top of the Big West three-point shooting list.

SERIES NOTES
UC Davis has won each of the last two contests, extending its lead to 25-14 all-time. The last Cal State Fullerton victory came in a 70-58 ballgame in Davis last February.

ALL-CONFERENCE ACCOLADES
Evanne Turner and Tova Sabel received All-Big West Conference honors following their impressive 2023-24 campaigns. Turner is named First Team All-Big West for the second straight season while Sabel garners Second Team recognition, making it back-to-back years on the All-Conference list.

SABEL GRABS FINAL BIG WEST WEEKLY HONOR
For the fourth time in her career, Tova Sabel is named Big West Player of the Week following her back-to-back outstanding scoring displays that powered UC Davis to a perfect week in its final games of the regular season.

Sabel exploded for a season-high 28 points in the Aggies' victory over UC San Diego, hitting four of her six attempts from beyond the arc in a 10-for-17 showing. The Swedish guard delivered the largest scoring haul by an Aggie this season while pulling down a career-best 12 boards in her impressive double-double. She also reached 1,000 career points in the contest, concluding one of the best nights of her collegiate career.

TURNER REACHES 1,500 CAREER POINTS
Evanne Turner ascended to fourth on the UC Davis all-time scoring list, passing both Jessica Campbell and Staci Stevens. The Fontana native has 1,593 points for her career and will look to further climb the ranks as third-place Sydnee Fipps is in her sights with 1,636 career points. Turner is one of four players in UC Davis women's basketball history to reach the 1,500-point milestone.

BAUGH JOINS COACHING STAFF
Former WNBA player and Sacramento native, Vicki Baugh, joins Jennifer Gross' staff as an assistant coach. The Sacramento native was a standout for the University of Tennessee, reaching the NCAA Tournament in all four of her playing seasons with the Lady Volunteers.

She won a national championship with the squad in the 2007-08 season before battling injuries for the next two years. Baugh battled back to enjoy an excellent end to her collegiate career, leading her team to back-to-back SEC titles and Elite Eight finishes in the NCAA Tournament. In her senior season, Baugh capped off her career in the college ranks by leading the Lady Vols in shooting percentage.

HOME IS WHERE THE WINS ARE
The Aggies are now 86-17 on their home floor over the past five-plus years, winning 40 of their last 49 and posting a winning record at home in each of the last 10 campaigns.

SVANHOLM RETURNS FOR SENIOR SEASON
Truly embodying the essence of the student-athlete is Lena Svanholm of UC Davis women's basketball. The forward has excelled tremendously off the court, as she was recently accepted into UC Davis' Ph.D program for Chemistry and Chemical Biology. Svanholm has announced that she will return for her 'last dance' in the 2023-24 campaign, becoming the only known active NCAA Division I women's basketball student-athlete to be enrolled in such a program.
