DAVIS, Calif. – UC Davis Athletics announces the creation of a newly formed council focused on the student experience at sporting events, the Aggie Pack Fan Council. The Council will be a diverse collective of Aggie fans dedicated to increasing student attendance and participation at all Aggie sporting events. Topics discussed by the council will include student communication, gameday environment, themed games, promotional giveaways, and related items. UC Davis Athletics is committed to building the top student atmosphere in the respective conference of each sport.

"A full and lively student section at Aggie sporting events is an asset for everyone in attendance. The energy is palpable and provides a home field advantage for UC Davis student-athletes," said Senior Associate Athletic Director of External Relations, Danielle Shank. "If you ask many of our alumni, sporting events are cited as some of their favorite campus memories and the foundation of the Aggie Pride they carry with them for the rest of their lives. We want to know how we in athletics can best serve today's students and continue to make game days special." 

Council members will serve on the council for a one-year period with a mutually agreed option to return for a second year. The council will meet monthly throughout the year with meetings lasting between one to two hours. As a thank you for those on the Council and their efforts, Council members will receive UC Davis Athletics Adidas gear and premium experiences at UC Davis Football games. 

UC Davis Athletics is soliciting participation from the following groups for the 15 to 20 council members:

• Current UC Davis students (first year through grad students)
• CAAA members
• ASUCD members
• Center for Student Involvement
• Student Success Centers
• UC Davis Fraternities and Sororities
• Current and former UC Davis student athletes

For those interested in joining the Council, please fill out the application form. UC Davis Athletics will be accepting applications until March 22, 2024 with the first Council meeting expected to be held in April 2024.
