DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis women's lacrosse team is on the road this weekend to take on San Diego State at the Aztec Lacrosse Field. The game will be the first time the Aggies and Aztecs square off as members of the Pac-12, though the game will not count towards their respective conference records.

LAST TIME OUT
The Aggies (1-1) opened their season last weekend with a 20-7 win against Akron and a 9-13 loss to Niagara. 

Cami Johnson and Ella Brislin each posted five goals over the weekend, while Grace Gebhardt dished out four assists. Defensively, Sierra Lizerbram was a nuisance for opponents, causing five turnovers and scooping up three ground balls.

ABOUT THE AZTECS
San Diego State enters the Saturday showdown against UC Davis with a 1-1 record, having split their contests against Lindenwood and Xavier last weekend. 

Frankie Garcia and Jenna McDermott lead the Aztecs in scoring this season with four goals each. The San Diego State goalie, Caitlin Boughton, had a stellar weekend saving 18 shots and allowing only 14 goals. 

HISTORY
UC Davis holds the historical advantage against San Diego State, with an 8-6 all-time record dating back to 2012. The Aggies have won three of the last four matchups, including an 11-9 win last season at UC Davis Health Stadium. The Aztecs' last victory came in a high scoring 21-17 affair in 2022. UC Davis has won four of seven games in San Diego.
