LAST WEEK
A massive fourth-quarter lead nearly evaporated for UC Davis in the dying minutes of the contest, but the Aggies would hang on for their first Big West Conference victory of the season, earning the 63-59 win.

The Aggies had three players score in double figures, led by Tova Sabel, who had 16 points. Megan Norris tacked on 13 points and Evanne Turner helped out with 13 points.

UC Davis capped off a perfect 2-0 week with a win over the Big West leaders, UC Irvine, rallying from a double-digit deficit to grab the 60-57 victory. The Aggies (6-8, 2-2 Big West) turned in one of their most efficient offensive performances of season, shooting 48.9% from the field and over 50% in the second half to storm back from a 10-point deficit in the third quarter.

UC Davis got a massive performance from Sabel who poured in a team-high 16 points, with 15 coming in the second half. The senior hit three of her five attempts from beyond the arc, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out four assists while leading the Aggies in scoring for the second straight game.

The Matadors on the first two games on their schedule but are currently riding an 11-game losing streak heading into Thursday's contest. Erica Adams and Amiyah Ferguson are each averaging 10 points-per-game to pace the offense.

SERIES NOTES
The Aggies carry an eight-game win streak over CSUN heading into Thursday's contest. Overall, UC Davis has historically dominated with a 32-16 edge over the Matadors.

Cal State Bakersfield has fared well in the all-time series with Davis' team, winning 10 of the 15 meetings. However, the Aggies swept both games a season ago.

WEEKLY HONORS
Through her dominant offensive performances, Tova Sabel led UC Davis to a perfect 2-0 week and earned herself Big West Player of the Week honors for the third time in her career.

The Swedish guard was on fire in the two wins, scoring a team-high 16 points in each contest. She was extremely efficient during her stellar week, going 11-of-18 from the floor (61.1%) and 5-of-10 from three-point range.

In the win over UC Riverside, Sabel grabbed a team-high five rebounds and came up with an important defensive board on the final possession of the game to seal the victory. Sabel also came up clutch in the win over UC Irvine, dropping the game-winning basket to complete the Aggies' double-digit comeback. The conference's sixth-ranked scorer has enjoyed a seven-game streak of scoring in double figures and hopes to keep UC Davis' winning streak alive next week at CSUN (Jan. 11) and Cal State Bakersfield (Jan. 13).

MOVING UP THE RANKS
Evanne Turner ascended to sixth on the UC Davis all-time scoring list, passing Pagie Mintun. The Fontana native has 1,383 points for her career and will look to further climb the ranks as fifth-place Jessica Campbell is in her sights with 1,413 career points.

She won a national championship with the squad in the 2007-08 season before battling injuries for the next two years. Baugh battled back to enjoy an excellent end to her collegiate career, leading her team to back-to-back SEC titles and Elite Eight finishes in the NCAA Tournament. In her senior season, Baugh capped off her career in the college ranks by leading the Lady Vols in shooting percentage.

HOME IS WHERE THE WINS ARE
The Aggies are now 78-16 on their home floor over the past five-plus years, winning 32 of their last 41 and posting a winning record at home in each of the last nine campaigns.
