PROVO, Utah – UC Davis faced a tough task on Saturday night, taking on one of the nation's top teams, but it would be #9 BYU who earned the three-set victory.
The Aggies fall to 3-2 overall but leave the dōTERRA Classic with a win, defeating McNeese State in four sets last night.
"We have to learn from this," said head coach
Dan Conners. "We didn't show up mentally or emotionally today. It's about our side of the net. We didn't take care of the things that we can control."
It was a tough night for UC Davis overall, hitting -.014 with 19 attack errors. BYU lived up to its national ranking, hitting .299 on the night while receiving a big performance from Erin Livingston who banged 12 kills at .375.

Set 1
Ally Chandler enjoyed a solid start to the contest with a pair of kills on her first two swings. However, BYU used a 6-0 scoring run to create some separation early in the set, forcing two UC Davis timeouts.
The Cougars showed their class right from the beginning by hitting .387 on their way to the 25-15 win in set one.
Set 2
The second set was much of the same as another big scoring run from the hosts in the middle of the set proved to be the difference. UC Davis started to struggle on the offensive end, hitting negative (-.143) in the second set, committing 10 attack errors.
Set 3
The third set went back-and-forth as the two teams battled to an 8-8 tie. BYU showed its ability to separate itself yet again, however, exploding for an 12-1 run to close things out. The Aggies would fall via the sweep for the first time this season as the Cougars remain undefeated on the year.
